adidas teamed up with Song for the Mute to create the 2022 Autumn/Winter Co-branded Collection, an extension of the main concept of the Song for the Mute ‘22.2 Les Olympiades’ series. Inspired by Les Olympiades, located in the 13th district of Paris, France, where Song for the Mute creative director Lyna Ty spent her early childhood. Apartment life in the 1990s, a new generation of young people, friendships, community bonds — it was this shared sense of belonging that formed the cornerstone of The Song for the Mute’s first collaboration with adidas.
SHADOWTURF, named after SFTM-001 “HONEYCOMB”, is the first shoe in collaboration with adidas X Song for the Mute. Inspired by natural color palettes and organic textures, the design and details show a subtle distressed effect. The shoe model draws inspiration from the brand’s classics and builds on the SHADOWTURF prototype of the vintage-style running shoe.
The upper is made of mesh and leather, with details such as zigzag stitching, reflective decorative elements, and text embroidery. The tongue features the “Song for the Trefoil” collaboration logo in a fun hand-crafted style, and the heel is decorated with a seven-dot HOUSE motif — a symbol of the partnership between the two parties, representing a sense of shared belonging. Paired with the outdoor-inspired Superturf Adventure midsole, the combination of Formotion and AdiPrene+ technology ensures a great wearing experience.
The first adidas x Song for the Mute SFTM-001 “HONEYCOMB” SHADOWTURF shoe model will be on sale in limited quantities on the CONFIRMED APP on August 26, 2022, with a suggested retail price of RMB 1,299.
